We continually have issues with multiple users started the same case. Data must be re-entered. I would be helpful to have the system check for duplicates when entering a decedent last name to avoid these types of issues. Even a "merge" record would be helpful.
We actually built a duplicate checker into the case creation window!
When you type a name into the window, a message below the Last Name field will tell you if any matches were found:
If you click that link, you'll jump to the bottom of the window where you'll see the potential matches. If you click on one of those matches, you'll see that case open in a new window:
Lastly, we are starting on a Case Merging feature next week! More info to come on that.
