The Planning Center "Messages" section allow for families to keep all correspondence centrally-located (in the Planning Center), avoid separate, external emails for correspondence. Presently, Messages are not able to be exchanged in a Pre-need case like it is available in an At-need, thus any message correspondence is not able to be kept all in one place, but rather in multiple places.
Pre-planning is process, and communication (Messaging) is one of the most important pieces of funeral planning.
Benefits:
This would allow all funeral home staff to view any past correspondence with an individual/family when the initially began the pre-planning conversation, and it would also the individual planning ahead to not have to search out any past correspondence, but rather know that it will always be here.
This would help allow for a continually/developing/increasing familitary with the Planning Center "environment" from the individual/family perspective, since they would be constantly going to the Planning Center for their correpondence.
It would also alow for better understanding of wishes/possible gradual changes, when it comes time to finalize arrangements, as they would be on record (with dates).
Sentimentally, this may be some of the final correspondence from an individual, and so family may be able to appreciate their loved one's "final words/thoughts".
